WHY DO WE COLLECT

We also process your Personal Data to enable other users to view your Metfie profile, to analyze your browsing pattern and history, and to allow our access, payment, and storage business partners to process your Personal Data.

Your login information: Your login information will be processed and saved by us so that you can access Your Account by proving your identification.

 

Your email address: We do not disclose your email address to outside parties.

Your email address will be used to: engage you with the application through newsletters, to inform you of your membership status, to alert you of other pertinent activity regarding Your Account, and for troubleshooting.

SMS from metfie: You authorize us to send you SMS alerts by registering with us. Please send us an email at support@Metfie.com if you’d prefer not to receive them.

 

Your geolocation: In order to make it useful for our users who might reside or work nearby, we will share your current location. Your zip code will never be disclosed to other Metfie members. You have the option to share your geolocation, which is required to view other Metfie members who are currently nearby. Users who have also published their geolocation will have access to your location. Please be aware that we never provide Metfie users with precise geolocations; the precision is only good for 0.5 kilometers at most.

 

Your date of birth: Your Identity will display your age, which was determined using your date of birth.

Photos you upload: It is required to upload pictures of yourself and choose a display image for your account when establishing your account. To choose the finest images for Your Account, we might make use of other methods, such as an external face recognition tool. This decision might be made based on elements like authenticity, composition, and picture quality. We may make changes to your uploaded images to improve their appearance on the site. Before they are displayed on Your Account, newly uploaded pictures by you will be evaluated. Other users will be able to see the images you submit. If Metfie thinks you and the recipient are a suitable match, your avatar or other photos might also be included in emails that Metfie sends to other users. With your permission, your Account and any associated images could be shown to the public on the Metfie main page.

Your written correspondence, including conversation messages: Your chat communications are treated with the utmost confidentiality, and their processing is limited to providing you with access to your chat history. Please be aware that we employ filtering methods and software that alert us to chat messages with objectionable material (e.g. derogatory or aggressive language, or unlawful use of our platform for advertisements or link-building.) We reserve the right to remove the offensive material following such notification. This also applies to any other writing that you publish on Metfie.

Your history of customer care: In order to improve our service to you, we maintain a record of any communications you have with our customer service team.

Non-personal data: When you use our website or app, we may also handle non-personal data. This information may include the type and version of your browser, the kind of computer or mobile device you use, and technical details about how you connected to our websites (such as your operating system and platform and the utilized internet service providers).

Push notifications from Metfie: With your express consent, we will use our app to send you push notifications to let you know about your membership status, new messages you’ve received, and other activity involving Your Account. Additionally, we might provide you with push notifications that include advertising and recommendations for people you might like.

 

Inviting friends

You will send an email message, Whatsapp message, SMS message, or Messenger message to the contact information you provided us with if you recommend an acquaintance to Metfie. These specifics won’t be disclosed to anyone else. You can be sure that your friend will accept the invitation if you choose to ask them to join Metfie. Additionally, you hereby promise to defend Metfie against any claims resulting from messages you send to anyone via Metfie. You are not allowed to transmit spam using our invite/refer friends’ function.

How do we protect your personal data?

We make every effort to safeguard your personal information from improper or unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, use, or destruction. Our services use SSL encryption to encrypt data, and only authorized personnel have access to your data via a hidden password and digital signatures. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. We periodically update this Privacy Policy unilaterally because we are always looking for new methods to make Metfie better. You will receive a pop-up notification in the app when there is a material modification to this Privacy Policy, and you must approve it before using Metfie going forward.

Storage and transfer of your personal data

 

Our storage partners may place your personal information on servers situated outside of your nation of residence.

By logging into your Metfie account, you can also access, modify, or remove your Personal Data. We keep your information in backup form for a safety retention window of up to three years after account deletion to guard against data loss caused by natural catastrophes and other unforeseen events. Even though the account will obviously no longer be accessible on Metfie during this time, account information will still be kept.

After this retention window, your personal data is deleted when you deactivate your account. We only keep your phone number and email information so we can get in touch with you about payments. We may keep general, non-personal information about your user behavior for internal use (number of people invited, number of logins, term of your subscription, payment method, etc).

Metfie is not allowed to gather data from children. If a Member gives false information about their date of birth, especially if they falsely state that they are older than 18, their parents should contact Metfie and ask them to remove the information by sending an email to support@metfie.com. Metfie promises to remove all information about the minor as quickly as possible.

The Member expressly agrees, at the time of registration, to the transfer of his or her data to Metfie service providers and subcontractors located outside of the Member’s country of residence for the purposes of enabling Metfie to conduct statistical analyses, support users, and, if necessary, host data processed by the Application.

Metfie promises that the transfers will take place under conditions that guarantee the data’s security and confidentiality as well as an adequate degree of protection in accordance with the law.

We may disclose your personal information

  • if we sell or purchase any assets or businesses, in which case we may disclose your personal information to the potential seller or buyer of those assets or businesses;
  • to locate you, get in touch with you, or take legal action against you if you violate our terms of service or other rules, or if we think you are endangering the rights of other users, the public, or Metfie.
